A poem..

I read this poem sometime back and always thought about what it really meant... I guess that whenever you feel low, this poem becomes real..

And Yet I Die
by Marilyn

I see the stars sparkling so bright,
Within the moon kissed sky.
I hear the lark so sweetly sing,
Amidst the morning dawn.
I smell the flower full in bloom,
And see their royal pomp.
And yet some place so deep within,
I'm shrouded and I'm closed.
The brilliance there I can't see,
In mists of misery.
Enshrined inside, unable thus,
To touch the warmth without.
I gaze upon this passion spent,
And yet . . . Inside I die.

Midnight's child

From SalmanRushdie's Midnight's Children:

(A fortune teller is telling the mother, details of life of her unborn child)

A son... such a son!! 'A son, sahiba, who will never be older than his motherland - neither older, nor younger.'

There will be two heads - but you shall see only one -
there will be knees and nose... a nose and knees!
'Newspaper praises him, two mothers raise him!
Bicyclists love him - but, crowds will shove him!
Sisters will weep; cobra will creep...
Washing will hide him - voices will guide him!
Friends mutilate him - blood will betray him!...
Spitoons will brain him - doctors will drain him - jungle will claim him - wizards reclaim him! Soldiers will try him - tyrants will fry him...

'He will have sons without having sons! He will be old before he's old!
And he will die... before he is dead.'

Cruel Game...

Saw a football match yesterday night.. Champions League semi-final between A C Milan and PSV Eindhoven. The match was awesome, PSV literally toyed with AC Milan and with the support they had from the crowd, they completely outplayed AC Milan, and won the match 3-1

But they weren't happy, guess why? Because even after winning 3-1, they lost on aggregate (the away goals rule)... SAD, isn't it.

Its life, isn't it!!!

I don't care what it is, all I care about is if someone did better, he should win, period, no ifs and buts attached...

Last night the heros cried and the losers smiled... A mockery of football was made :(

I wish someday, someday, we'll have a fair world and a fair game....

Working life!

Hmm... I have now been working in a software company for almost 2 years now, precisely 1 year 10 months and 4 days :), and I just wanted to look back at the time that has passed since I passed out of college and what I have become (or what's become of me :P).

So, if I go back to 1st July 2003, my first day at work (when I officially got inducted into the world of employed software junkies), I remember a guy who was kinda afraid of whats in store for him. He made a plan for himself, he knew how he should do things (which meant do things right), but was afraid of all the people around him, who were senior to him, and who were better than him... But at the moment things were quite easy.

He was enjoying the fact that there was no real work for atleast 2 weeks or so, because of some induction presentations, and he knew that meant whole day at the back of the audi with friends and time pass...

1 month later
When he got into the first real project where people expected him to work, he was amazingly happy. Happy to work!!! And I thought why??

This guy practically hates to work... Its like all this guy wanted to ever since he saw a computer was to play games (I still do, even in office :P)...

It all started with a racing game that he played on DOS at his dad's office...

So, because games were fun, computer was fun... He practically got his dad convinced to buy him a PC just after 12th exams (for a whopping 55K rupees) , so he could play Formula 1 on it (and someday make a game).

Coming back to his first assignment, which was to build a component that could enable an application to update itself, he thought, and worked hard/ then harder....
And he was happy because it was new stuff to him...

NOW
And now, after these 22 months of EXPERIENCE, what does this guy think...

He thinks he's changed a lot since 1st July 2003. He's not that afraid anymore, he's more confident about himself and his work. He understands people better (atleast he thinks so), and he takes interviews!!! He no longer thinks about building computer games.. He still plays games though.. He likes to work from 9 to 7 now... He knows work is part of life and he does okay at his job.. He isn't that fascinated by things around him in the office like he used to be.

BUT, but he's still happy to go to work!!! Howzzat?

Because he doesn't like sitting at home, that's why.. Disappointing reason I know, but its the truth.. lol

Now I know I'll never ask again :)

Me Mature!!!

Okay, before I tell you what I want to say.... A little background first :)

On last thursday, I wrote a sentimental e-mail to my elder sister who's in banglore. I told her how much I love her and care about her, and so on (something that must've been a shock to her, as I am hardly that sort of a person). And its her reply that shocked me even more...

She says I am very mature for my AGE!!! Now whats that supposed to mean? Does it mean good, or bad, or never mind.. lol

So, I am still thinking, I hope its good I am mature for my age..

I have made mistakes and I never want to repeat em,, so I try to learn from them. Maybe thats what makes me a little mature...

I am supposed to be mature as well, isn't it, cause I am almost 23... Practically thats atleast 1/3rd of my life, if not more, so its good I am mature :). But I wanted to know why she thought so, and I don't think I can... Its too weird :P
