VISA... man, what a bummer!

New development in the last few days in my life is a chance to visit the US of A... Well, well, I thought its gonna be cool. I mean whats the harm in going out and visiting a new country, new people etc etc..

But what did I know about the things that need to be done before that.. First get your Visa application submitted to get an interview :). Ya and interview to convince the authorities that you are worth entering there country and not a THREAT, lol. So, for the application, I need teh following docs

1. Form 16 for last 2 years (GoI interference I guess)
2. My personal bank statement for last 4 months (god knows for what??)
3. 2 photographs 50mm*50mm size (big size to check your pimples..)
4. Salary slips fo last 3 months (to check if I am not a begger, lol)
5. Client invitation letter (I hope they are prepared for me :P)
6. Company joining letter copy (I am an employee, otherwise why will the company want me to go!!!)
7. Will find out soon

So, I've got a few of them ready and will submit all by tomm.

Now comes the tricky part :).

THERE ARE NO DATES FOR VISA INTERVIEW UNTILL SEPT LAST WEEK...

So, maybe, this is all just another experience :).

No more Mr nice guy

This world is not for people who help others. Atleast not in my world!

You help others when needed and they might yield rewards from it. It makes you happy that you helped someone and it made a difference. You might feel it was worth it. Then one day you will be hurt by the same people and only then do you realise that nothing mattered. It was nothing but a waste to spend your time and energy as the person you helped doesn't even remember it anymore. I have learnt my lesson.

From today, I won't let it happen. No more Mr. nice guy. Only those people who take care of themselves and no one else succeed in this world. Its a selfish place and I need to learn to be selfish. I will. I am from today.

Life makes you learn your lessons the hardest way possible. I have figured that out now and my only advise to anyone reading this is that don't ask why!!! That's because there is no why, its just there. Take it or leave it, its your choice...

Computers!!! Is it really work?

Been 2 years of 'work' in software industry and lately 1 question has been ringing in my ears!

The question is, 'Is working in a software industry really qualify as work?'

Don't have an answer to it but I have been thinking a bit about it...

All I do is to write code... I don't think its work. Work should yield something physical that you see developing into a product. On the other hand in software, you see a final 'product' that again runs on the same computer. Nothing physical, no identity of its own...

Dunno what I mean by all this, just that for the past few days, I am very skeptical about my 'work', if that is indeed what I do.

2 cig thoughts...

Life is just like a cigarette,
burn one and it burns the other.

Life is nothing but a burning cigarette...
In the end, there will be only ashes left.

Work Uff..

Man! I have some work pending or what. I have two main tasks to complete ASAP. First, filing the Income Tax returns. Just finished filling up the 'SARAL' form. Not that 'SARAL' trust me. The form can make you read it 10 times and still you'd be wondering what side is 'up'. Lol, anyway, I got one from one of my co-workers, and copy pasted (with intelligence, of course, mastered during B.E.). And even changing the numbers took a bit of time. But now finally, I have both the copies ready (did I say both!! Yes, the asses need 2 copies for god sake ).

The second task is getting my degree updated in my Passport, and getting ECNR done. Trust me, I was so surprised at seeing the form that I almost shouted with joy :). A GoI form, and that too 'SARAL' or easy, and this one doesn't even have that name. I filled it up in 4 min flat. But guess what, I am thinking there has to be a catch right! The government can't be this stupid :P. And then it clicked. I said to myself, you still have to go and submit the form dude,... lol. Ya, and I am expecting atleast 4 hrs in the line. So, I am gonna go prepared with a can of Pepsi and chips to cut time. Tommorrow is going to be one long 'wait' and me looking forward to it.

Till tomm night then,
Adiaos amigo..

Decisions!!!

Its been a long time since I wrote my last blog. So, finally, I'm back and back to stay :). Today's topic is decisions :). Firstly, what decisions am I talking about? I'll give you two examples. Example 1: Should I go for higher studies? If yes, what higher studies? MS or MBA!
Example 2: Should I buy a flat? My dad's getting retired next month. Will it add too much pressure. What if I have to go abroad soon. What about dad/mom settling after dad's retirement?

These are the two questions that have been ringing bells in my head for the past few days. And all I have been doing is trying to delay stuff. So, finally yesterday I got punished for not making the decision :(. The owner of the flat we were thinking to buy, already said yes to some other buyer.

So, I've decided that next time onwards I'm going to be pro-active. Next time, I'll make a bad decision (so be it), but atleast make one. No more missed opportunities to let go by me. I'll rather make the best of a bad decision than to sit and wonder why didn't I do anything!

Anyway, whats happened, has happened :(. Life will go on :).
